Biography
Jean was born in 1767 [1]and is the daughter of Robert Kennedy of Daljarrock and Grizel Cathcart. [2]
On the death of her father in 1792 she inherited both the estate of Daljarrock in the parish of Colmonell and the title thus becoming Lady Daljarrock in her own right.
She married Robert Thomson on 30 Dec 1795 in St Andrews Church Edinburgh. [3] Robert was a sugar plantation manager who had returned from Jamaica. She had a son, Robert Kennedy Thomson, who was born on 06 Oct 1796[4]
Jean died on 08 July 1797 and is buried in the churchyard of Buccleuch Church in Edinburgh. [5]
