Hi Mary,

I was very active on Wikitree during the last six months. I've done a lot of work on finding duplicate profiles and setting up merges. I've also abstracted several wills and posted those on appropriate profiles.

Thank you Seely, I am marking you as ACTIVE. Have a good year.

Thanks for finding the issue with Mary Hughes Hammond. Hughes-15335 did not come up in my search which is why I created Hughes-26364.

Good catch on spotting this!

Hello Seely,

I have been researching my ancestry which is Martin. I am in the lineage of John Martin who came into the United States. Most of the documentation I have found references your research you did on the first 3 generations of John Martins in Maryland from 1650 to 1770. Is your paper available anywhere? Thank you for all the research you have done. I am the lineage of one of the Zadock Martin's from 1698 to 1846 which traces back up to the John Martin's you researched.

Thank youi,

Dennis

I continue to focus my efforts in Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties where I add primary sources and categorize profiles that need more information. I received a 100 badge every month except April, but put over 300 entries in March.

I have been very active since joining the project. Most of my efforts have been focused on adding primary sources to profiles of pre-1700 Marylanders living in Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties. I always make an effort to add a sticker to profiles that qualify. I earned a Club 100 sticker every month since last August and I'd guess 80% of my entries are for early colonists.

Thank you, Seely. I am marking you as active. We are glad to hear you are plugging away on those 80% early colonists.

some News Page articles might explain better... see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Southern_Colonies_News_Page_-_2021_Archive#January_2021_News - this one doesn't address that the colony is a required parameter because it wasn't then. For that article, see the Categories Team update at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Southern_Colonies_News_Page#August_News

Hi again! It looks like you also have a draft in progress for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Burgess-7686

I'm a new member of the Southern Colonies Project & don't know all the rules. Am I not supposed to put a project sticker on a profile I've worked on until other members of the project check it out? Also how do you lock a profile?
posted by Seely (Kenny) Foley
My comments about Burgess and Parrish had to do with a warning that prevented me from editing those profiles. If you add the US Southern Colonist Sticker, you need to also add a colony, which is what I went to do for them, but discovered that I could not do so because you had a draft version that had not been saved.

I don't know what the current process might be for ongoing work on a US Southern Colonies Project profile, but overall WikiTree guidelines for PPP (locking a profile) are covered at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Southern_Colonies_Project-Managed_Profiles#Criteria

BTW, both profiles now have a colony added to the sticker, so the DBE 894 suggestion (Missing Required parameter in template) has been resolved.

For details about the sticker, see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:US_Southern_Colonist_Sticker

Hi! I went to correct a DBE for Parrish-90 and it seems to say there's an edit in progress by you, but it's dated 13 September. Could you check it out? I posted a comment on the profile about the change needed to clear a database error (DBE).

Thanks!

Hello, you added a marriage date for Stephen Warman and Mary Roberts. Can you please tell me what source that you used? I was wondering where you found the source. I am always interested in locations to find new sources. Thanks, Laura
posted by Laura DeSpain
The source is listed in the references on Mary Roberts page. I have a large collection of paperback books that were published in MD in the late 90s and early 2000s with births, marriages & deaths in MD. I think they're probably out of print.

Your proposed merge of my family tree, the Gorsuch part, I have major errors from way back and I am afraid if I merge them I will enter incorrect information and foul up the current tree.
posted by Kerry Elkins
I don't know which merge you're talking about Kerry. I haven't proposed any merges for Gorsuch. I proposed a merge yesterday on the Elijah Stansbury family, but only for Jemima, a daughter of Elijah Sr. Can you tell me which one you mean by putting a comment on that person's profile.

Hi, Thanks for completing the merge for Susannah Mead. I am slowly sorting this out. Just made a couple of given name changes on Long-351 Would you look at this family group--am I on the right track with this? Other changes needed for Thomas of Thomas Long and Susannah Mead. Do you agree with my work so far?

Hi Seely! Thanks so much for all the great documentation of the Billingsleys. I had a question about one of the entries... it has "Billingslely" for the sons' patent for Our Legacy - the paragraph just about Sources on Billingsley-549. Do you know if that was how the name was in the patent or did it get an extra "l" in transcription?

Thanks again! Liz

I am not sure what to do about merging Rockhould-8 with Rockhold-263. They seem to already be merged.
posted by Alan Wilson
Charles Rockhould (Rockhould-9) was born in 1686. His father, John Rockhould (Rockhould-20) died after 1686. The "after" adjective indicates that he died after his last son was born. According to Peggie Dobson Sides' research, John R. died in 1698. I will amend the record accordingly.
