Biography

Draper, of Alwalton, Huntingdonshire.

Background

He was the second son of fifteen children of Buxton Kenrick and Ann Bailey, of Alwalton, Huntingdonshire.

In 1829 Buxton Kenrick, Esq, of Alwalton, and his son Mr Charles Kenrick, also of Alwalton, were subscribers to 'A Typographical and Historical Account of Wainfleet and the Wapentake of Candleshoe, in the County of Lincoln, with Engravings' by Edmund Oldfield.

Marriage and family

On 21 November 1825 he eloped and married Bella Baruh Lousada at Dumfrieshire, Scotland; and again on 18 April 1826 at St Luke's Church, Old Street, London.

They had one son, Charles Lousada Kenrick, who died in infancy in 1827, when a few days old.

On 20 December 1837 in the List of decrees of Divorce pronounced in Court of Session - Mrs Isabella Kenrick v Charles Kenrick, sometime of Alwalton, in Huntingdon. LM Vol XXIX, London (1843).

She remarried in 1839 and again in 1851 (after Kenrick's death) to Lt-Col Robert Wills, of Flintshire, Wales, and died there in 1877.

Later years

The following newspaper notices probably relate to Charles Kenrick of Alwalton:

11 June 1840 Assignment. Notice is given that James Parke and Charles Kenrick, of Liverpool, in the county of Lancaster, Woollen Drapers, Tailors, Hatters, and General Outfitters, have by an indenture dated 10 June conveyed and assigned over all their estate and effects unto Edward Dent, of Huddersfield, York, Cloth Merchant [etc]. Dated Liverpool, 11 June 1840. The London Gazette, Pt I.

4 December 1840 Bankrupts - James Parke and Charles Kenrick, Liverpool, tailors and drapers. The Jurist, London, 1841.

27 March 1843 Court of Bankruptcy, Bristol - Charles Kenrick. The Jurist, London, 1843.

Death

He later went abroad to Ireland, where he died.

On 30 August 1851, at Killala, Charles, second son of the late Buxton Kenrick Esq, of Alwalton, Huntingdonshire. GM Vol 36, London (1851).
