File Format: pdf Enquiry CFHS 5Oct10 Dear Michelle, With reference to your request for parentage of Richard STEPHENS and Mary KENT, mar 6 Dec 1825 Falmouth. Flushing lay in the parish of Mylor in the period. There are two suitable records for the baptism of a Richard STEPHENS: 1. Richard Thomas Stephens s/o William and Christian 31 Oct 1790 Mylor. 2. Richard Stephens son of Richard & Ann 26 Dec 1790 Mylor I have looked at the children of Richard & Mary but can find no naming pattern to give a clue as to which of the above might be the correct Richard STEPHENS. William & Christian had 10 children baptised at Mylor between 1772 and 1790. Richard & Ann had 2 children bapt at Mylor: Richard in 1790 and Olivia in 1788. There is also a record of a William STEPHENS s/o Richard & Ann being bapt at Falmouth 1792. This might indicate that Richard & Ann moved to Falmouth which is why we may have the record of Richard STEPHENS marrying Mary KENT at Falmouth 1825. As regards Mary KENT: Mary KENT d/o William & Grace bap 25 Oct 1807 Merther [There was another bap: Mary Ann KENT d/o John & Ann 23 May 1809 Merther, but this child was buried 1813 aged 4, so can be eliminated.] William KENT marr Grace ALLEN 23 Jan 1799 Merther. Their children were bap Merther: Elizabeth 1801; Anna Maria 1803; William Henry 1806; Mary 1807; Jane 1812.
