Dear Hewlett, Thank you for sharing the touching letter from James Monroe Hewlett on the anniversary of his wife's passing. As part of my ongoing work on the life of Richard Buckminster Fuller I am currently researching in depth that period in the early 1920's with special attention to the extended Hewlett family. I have discussed this personally with Allegra Fuller (daughter of Bucky). His writing that 20 March is her birthday and wedding day is an approximation, AFAIK she was born 29-March 1867 and was married 7-April 1894. But it certainly is that time of year. 1920 was a hard time for James Monroe. He lost his 2nd son named Willets, I am not sure how (I suspect complications from Spanish Flu). In bittersweet counterpoint to these depths of sorrow, his first born son married, and he was appointed head of the Society of Mural Painters. He was quite proud of his Masonic murals, though tended to not mention the Grand Central Station mural that he designed, as its backwards constellations and rapid damage from mildew were points of contention.
