Barber Kenyon was born on April 11, 1787 in Of Otisco, Onondaga, New York, son of Robert Kenyon (1735–1805) and Ruth Barber (1742–1825).

Barber (18) married Lydia Foster (15) (born about 1790 in Galesville, Onondaga) in 1806 in Greenwich, Washington, New York, USA. Their daughter was Julia Ann Kenyon (1830–1881).

Barber died on April 26, 1857 in Barry, Michigan, United States, aged 70.
