On 29 Dec 1870, at St James, Accrington, he married Mary Smalley. He was a moulder age 24 of Fern Grove, Accrington. She was a weaver age 29 of Fox Street, daughter of Thomas Smalley, Bleacher.

There does not appear to have been any surviving issue.
