Nancy's father is Freeman. There are 2 Freeman Kenyons that appear to be causing confusion. One is son of John, other is son of Giles. I'm unsure which is correct for mine.

KNOWN INFORMATION ON ARNOLD KENYON-KINYON 1790-187?. Arnol (Arnold) Kenyon--born about 1790 apparently near Sterling CT. Married 3. Oct 1811 to Anne Carpenter in Hinesburg VT. He served in J.P. Eldridge's. Company of the Vermont Militia in the war of 1812. He was made a freeman in. Sep 1812 at a town meeting in Hinesburg. An Arnold Kenyon (spelled same) was in Holland, Niagara Co NY in census of 1820, he was 26-44, had three young children. Two males under 10 and one. female under 10. (This could be Olive!) Living near by were a Freeman and. Samuel Kenyon. There was also an Arnold Kenyon listed in the 1830 census of Eire County, he. was listed as 30-40, his wife was also 30-40, with two males, 10-15 and 0-5,. and one female 0/5. ( this is likely the Rebecca listed below, but what of the. older girl, was she already married?. In 1850 we find Arnold Kenyon listed in the census of Preble Courtland Co NY,. he is 60, wife Mary is 58, daughter Rebecca 18 born NY, son William is 15, in. same family is listed Eliakim (this is likely the name of Mary's father, see. below) Kenyon age 24 born NY with wife Lovina 22, born NY and an infant. daughter Mary R. In the 1860 census of Preble, Cortland Co. NY is listed an Arnold Kenyon age. 70 born in CT, his wife Mary is 66 and was born in VT. There is another male. living with them listed as William Kenyon born about 1836 in NY. Arnold listed. real property of $500. and personnel property value of $53. In the census of Tully, Onondaga Co. NY taken on 8 Jul 1870 is listed an. Arnold Kenyon age 80, Born in RI. His wife was Mary age 76 born in VT. On 18 May 1871 Arnold applied for a pension for service in the war of 1812. He was 81 years of age and was then living in Tully, Onondaga Co NY. He claims. he was married 14 Aug 1828 to Mary Howe in Holland NY. This seems to indicate. that his first wife Anne, may have died and he remarried. In the 1820 census. of Holland was listed a Eliakin Howe. Was this Mary's first husband or her. father? Arnold apparently died before the pension was approved, as no follow- up was received.

OLIVE KENYON. Olive Kenyon born about 1815 in VT. Married about 1838 to Joseph W. Northrup. Jr. in Holland NY. Died before 1879 in MI. Joseph W. died 5 Dec 1854 in MI.

Children

  • Freeman G. Northrup--born 1840 in Eire Co. NY, died during the Civil War.
  • George Arnold Northrup--born about 1847 in MI.
  • Charles Northrup--born about 1849 in MI.
  • Albert D. Northrup--born about 1852 in MI.

In 1840 Joseph W. Northrup Jr. was listed in the census of Holland, Eire Co. NY, living very near was a Freeman ( age 80-90??) and his wife (age 60-70). This Freeman was deeded property from Jonathon Drew on 21 Mar 1836. (. Adjoining property on West belonged to Jerimiah Howe in 1828) On 8 Dec 1840. Freeman deed this property to Joseph W Northrup Jr. Going further back we find. that Joseph W. Northrup Sr came to Holland MI in about 1828 from Marcelles,. Onondoga Co. NY. We suspect herein began the relationship that resulted in the. marriage of Joseph to Olive.

NANCY KENYON. Nancy was born 12 Jan 1802 in Sterling CT and is believed to be a daughter of. Freeman and Desire (Titus) Kenyon. She was married to Chase Fuller on 5 May. 1822 in Holland Eire Co. NY. At the time they had five young children. Chase was active in community affairs and served in various offices. Some time. later they moved to Cattaraugus Co. NY. They had a large family of children. In 1870 they were living in Bowling Green Virginia where Chase served as the. local Postmaster. After retiring they returned to the Carrolton NY area.
