Jonathan Kenyon was born in 1695 in Westerly, Washington, Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, son of John Kenyon (~1657–~1732) and Unknown Mumford (~1661–<1732).
Jonathan (29) married Sarah Rogers (27) (born about 1697 in Westerly, Rhode Island; daughter of James Rogers and Elizabeth (Harper) Rogers) in 1725 in Rhode Island. Their children were:
- Sarah Kenyon
- Elizabeth Kenyon
- Jonathon Kinyon (<1727–>1777)
- James Kenyon (1727–<1778)
- Samuel Kenyon (~1728–1801)
- Nathan Kenyon (~1731–1821)
- Benjamin Kinyon (~1735–1811)
Jonathan (52) married Mary Gardiner (1747), daughter of Benoni Gardiner and Mary (UNKNOWN) Gardiner in 1748.
Jonathan died before January 7, 1767 in Charlestown, Washington, aged about 71.

There are two Joshua Kenyon's in the Charlestown records, they are called Joshua son of E(noch) and the other is called Captain Joshua. Eventually that stopped and you just saw one Joshua Kenyon, so maybe the other left for another town.
Charlestown Land deeds show that Joshua Kenyon son of Enoch married an Elizabeth. On the 1774 Charlestown Census there is a Joshua Kenyon with wife and 2 children under 16 (1 boy, 1 girl). On the 1790 Census, there are 2 Joshua's. One with 2 males under 16, 2 males over 16 and 3 females over 16. There are several transactions naming siblings Roger and Sarah Potter, widow of William Potter. Also his mother Lucy lived a long time after Enoch's death. Lucy, the mother is listed on the 1800 Census in Charlestown with also a Joshua and a Joshua 2 also residing in Charlestown.
Charlestown Land deeds for Joshua Kenyon whom Jonathan Kenyon Sr., and his other sons deeded/sold land adjacent to each other signs with a wife Mary. Joshua witnessed several deeds for Jonathan Sr. and his sons. This Joshua may be the one who went to Westerly because on a 14 Jan 1796 Charlestown land deed signed Joshua and Mary, Joshua is listed as Joshua of Westerly. On the 1790 Census in Charlestown, there are two Joshua's one with 2 males over 16 and 7 females over 16 which is most likely Joshua as the one in Westerly had many girls. There is a Joshua Kenyon listed in the 1800 Census in Westerly which might be this Joshua, called Captain.

If there are several matching test takers who descend from Jonathan, that does not confirm his relationship to his own father. I've changed his paternal relationship to 'confident'. Please don't change it back to 'confirmed with DNA' without an adequate DNA confirmation statement. Thanks! Let me know if you don't understand or if you have questions.
