Married Lady Constance Harriet Mahonese Talbot on 12 Aug 1857.

8th Marquess of Lothian. Son of Sir John William Robert Kerr, 7th Marquess of Lothian, 1794-1841 and Lady Cecil, daughter of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot, 1st Earl Talbot, 1808-1877. Husband of Lady Constance Harriet Mahonesa Chetwynd-Talbot, daughter of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot, 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Lady Sarah Elizabeth Beresford, married on 12 August 1857. Educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England and Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford. On 14 Nov 1841 he succeeded to 9 titles: the 10th Lord Kerr of Nisbet, Langnewtoun and Dolphinstoun, the 10th Earl of Ancram, 3rd Baron Ker of Kersheugh, Roxburgh, the 11th Lord Jedburgh, the 9th Lord Ker of Newbattle, the 8th Marquess of Lothian and the 9th Earl of Lothian, 8th Viscount of Briene, and the 8th Lord Ker of Newbottle, Oxnam, Jedburgh, Dolphinstoun and Nisbet. At his death, with no issue, his title of Marquis passed onto his brother, Sir Henry Schomberg Kerr.
