According to his death record, Wm. H. Kerr was born in 1826, the son of Abraham Kerr and Mary Jane Casey (this seems to be a mistake, he is reported to have been married to Mary Jane Casey), both born in Kentucky. He died in 1918 and was buried at Mt. Washington, Missouri on 11 July 1918. Mrs. Lana M. Knight was the informant on the record.[1] Find a Grave reported his name as William Hayes Kerr. He was buried in the Mount Washington Cemetery at Independence, Jackson County, Missouri.[2] In an obituary he was recorded as having died at the home of his daughter Laura M. Knight.[3] In the 1910 census William was recorded as having been married four times.[4]
In 1840 William was likely one of the males age 10-14 in the household of his father Abraham Kerr at Monroe County, Kentucky.[5]
William H. Kerr married Mary Ann Clark at Macoupin County, Illinois on 1 Februry 1850. (Compiled marriage source).[6]
In 1850 Wm H. Kerr was living at Macoupin County with his wife Mary W. Kerr. He was recorded as born in Tennessee.[7]
William married Mary Jane Casey at Montgomery, Illinois on 17 March 1853 (Compiled marriage source).[8]
In 1860 William Ker was living at Shaw's Point, Macoupin County with his wife Mary and four children, James, Joshua, Benjamin and Eliza B. Kerr.[9]
William was evidently living in Missouri 1872 and 1873 according to the birth years of is two children Don P. and George A. Kerr in the 1880 census.
William was recorded as living near Nokomis, Montgomery County, Illinois when his mother died at his home on 30 July 1878.[10]
In 1880 William H. Kerr was living at Emporia Township, Lyon County, Kansas with his wife Mary W. Kerr and their children, Charles H., Edward N., Mary K., Don P. and George A. Kerr.[11]
William married Julia E. Wilson on 2 December 1886 at Moline, Elk County, Kansas.[12]
In 1900 William was living in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri with his wife Julie E. Kerr and his daughter Laura Kerr. He was recorded as born in Kentucky in November of 1826 and had been married 13 years.[13]
In 1910 Wm Kerr was still living in Kansas City with his wife Julia. He was recorded as having been married four times.[4]
