Thomas was born in 1802. He was the son of Daniel Kerr and Mary Kirkpatrick. he married Nancy Elizabeth Foglesong. They had 10 children, 4 daughters and 6 sons. They lived in Pocahontas County, VA (then became WV) throughout their lives where Thomas worked as a farmer (per census records). It was here he passed away in 1884. He is buried at the Kerr-Nottingham Cemetery.
