Biography

Rachel was born in 1857 to Carleton Kerr and Laura Pencille. She married George Stonehouse in 1877 ^[1] and they had, at least, one child. She married George Potts in 1899. ^[2] She married John Philip in 1904. ^[3] Rachel passed away in 1938.

An inscription at the Erskine Cemetery (Section B) reads as follows: "In loving memory of John Cowie Philip born Dec. 10, 1866 died Oct. 23, 1947 Rachel Ann Kerr wife of J.C. Philip born Aug. 11, 1857 died July 15, 1938".
