The banns and marriage registers show Margaret was from Dalmellington and the marriage took place in Straiton. Three children were born between 1814 and 1818 in Patna, and three more between 1820-1824 in Glenside, Kirkoswald. In 1841, David McCall is living at his son Gilbert's in Straiton. There is no trace of Margaret, so I am assuming she has died pre 1832 when David remarried.
Going by other Kerr's in the registers at that time, I am working at a possible brother, David Kerr who married Agnes Clark in 1810, Straiton. David and Agnes started their family in Straiton (Janet, Margaret and Gilbert) before moving away.
Following on from that I am also looking at Gilbert Kerr and Margaret Hannah as possible parents to David, born 1787 Kirkmichael.
Gilbert Kerr and Margaret Hannah (Hannay) proclaimed their marriage in Kirkmichael and Straiton. Helen and Hugh were born to them in Straiton.
