Biography
John was born in before the 11th September, 1864, at Little Hoole, Lancashire, England.[1] It is likely he was born very close to this date, as other records record his birth year as 1864/1865.[2][3] John was born to Alice (nee Wilson) and Richard Kershaw.[4]
John was christened on the 11th September, 1864, at Hoole, Lancashire.[5]
The 1871 Census has John living at Little Hoole, Lancashire, with his mother, Alice, and his siblings, William, and Elizabeth.[6] Also living with them were two boarders, Lavinia and Margaret Radcliffe.[7]
John passed away in 1941, in Melbourne, Victoria.[8] He was 76 years old.[9] His death was registered in Victoria, in 1941.[10] Please note that it seems most likely that the 'Blackpool' birth location, on that record, was an error.
