Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free-Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a Unresponsive Profile Managers for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Shayne ~ WikiTree Mentor
Hi Paula, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your Irish Roots, I wanted to let you know we have a great project that focuses on Irish family here called the Irish Roots Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.
You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the Irish Roots Project will be happy to help you in any way they can. Thank you so much for joining WikiTree. Volunteers are what make it such an awesome place to share our family ties.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
If you need any help getting started check out the Help section,or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)
You clicked on the volunteer button indicating that you would like to collaborate and add information. If thatÂ’s correct please leave another comment here on your profile and one of the Greeters will be happy to add you as a member of WikiTree.
If you are just looking for family or other researchers working on the same names as yours, use the surname search function at the top of the profile page. You are welcome to do this as a guest.
2. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.
If you would like to contribute, click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile to let our greeters know. You should include a little bit about how you plan to contribute to the tree.
