Biography
Christeen was born in 1899. She is the daughter of Lorenz Kessler and Regina Beck. [1]

Christeen was the daughter of Lorenz and Regina (Beck) Kessler. She gew up and attended school near Anamoose. She attended a country church and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in November 1918. She was baptized in a lake at Pfeiffer's Ranch in July 1919 by Rev. W. Wahl. She became a member of the German Baptist Church of Martin. She married Conrad Michelson on May 16, 1918 in Martin. They lived and farmed northwest of Martin. In her early years she would hitch up her favorite horse to the one-seated buggy and go to town to shop and attend women's church meetings. She was very active in women's work all her life and sang in the church choir. Her 8 children helped her celebrate her 100th birthday last year. She is survived by 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Florence Frueh, Rugby, ND, Luverne Krueger, Lakewood, CO, Shirley and Deene Horn, Eden Prairie, MN, Jean an Larry Peterson, Moorhead, MN; 4 sons and 4 daghters-in-law, Lorenz and Laverne, Walnut Creek, CA, Robert and Frieda, Lodi, CA, Marin and Mary Ann of Martin, ND, Victor and Joy, Powell, WY; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Walter Kessler, St. Paul, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons-in-law Ernest Frueh and Robert Krueger.
