In 1930, she was living with her divorced mother and was working as a clerk in a delicatessan, as was her mother. After her mother died in 1945, Edna went to live for a short time with her cousin Herb and his wife Florence in Joliet, llinois. She worked at the Revlon Polish Company, there.
