Notes
Note - West Virginia did not exist until the Civil War (~1860), splitting off from Virginia. Birth would have been in the state of Virginia, technically. - CJL
Note N1420From a letter by Margaret Nelson, dated 1938:
"One of the daughters of William Wood was Mary Ann Wood and while attending a Girl's Seminary at Chillicothee, Ohio she became acquainted with James Ketterman who was a private in the War of 1812.

(Justus W. Ketterman's birth date may be December 20 or 28, 1795.)
--------------HISTORY OF JUSTUS W. KETTERMAN--------------------------

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Justice by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Justice:
Ketterman-57 and Ketterman-26 appear to represent the same person because: same father, birth is off by one year, probably due to a source that said 1794/5
Ketterman-57 and Ketterman-26 are not ready to be merged because: lack of documentation of spouse, residences and death. Spouses listed as Mary Woods or Mary Hinkle. Need to research spouses and death dates
Ketterman-57 and Ketterman-26 appear to represent the same person because: Justus and Justice Ketterman are the same person. His first name was spelled both ways, but his tombstone is spelled Justice Ketterman. Also his military papers had his name spelled Justice Ketterman, which is the way his family spelled it.
