Biography

John was born in abt. 1675 (based on marriage year, so he could have been born earlier0. He was the son of John Keay and Sarah Church.

He married Grizzel Grant, daughter of a Scottish prisoner of war from the Battle of Dunbar, Peter Grant b. 1697.

He passed away in 1736.

Probate surname is Kye[1][2]

Notes -
John Kye/Key Jnr is a witness to the will of Timothy Wentworth in Berwick.

Some Ancestry researchers have assigned this couple as the parents of Patrick Keay. However based on all the available sources, it seems highly unlikely.
