Biography
Catherine "Cattie" Key was born 9 September 1849 in Hopkins County, Kentucky.[1] She was the first child of Richard Key and Rebecca Puryear.[1] In the 1850 census, Catherine, 8 months old, was recorded living in District 2, Hopkins, Kentucky, with her parents.[2] By the 1860 census, she lived with her parents and five younger siblings, Jas E, Adella, Ann R, Mary and Queen in Hopkins County (P.O. Vanderburg), Kentucky. In addition, Mary Brown, age 18, lived with them.[3]
She married Washington B. Hobgood on 3 November 1868 in Hopkins County, Kentucky.[4] They had 13 known children.
Catherine "Cattie" (Key) Hobgood, age 85, died 30 May 1936 at her daughter Mable (Hobgood) Hart's home in Evansville, Vanderburgh, Indiana and was buried at Union Cemetery, Nebo, Hopkins County, Kentucky.[1][5]
