Biography

Lorenzo Key is a part of US Black heritage.

Lorenzo was born in 1857 in Tennessee. He was the son of Hilary Key and his wife Martha. In 1870 Lorenzo was living in Gallatin, Tennessee with his parents and siblings.^[1] In 1873 he was listed as a student at Central Tennessee College.^[2] Lorenzo graduated in 1878 from the Meharry Medical College in Nashville. ^[3]

In 1880 Lorenzo was living with wife America in Tipton County, Tennessee where he was a practicing physician.

In 1900 he was practicing in Greenville, Texas. He had been married for twenty years to wife America, and they had one daughter and American's brother in their household.^[4]

He passed away in 1901. He was buried in East Mount Cemetery in Greenville, Texas.^[5]
