Biography

Mary Kid was the daughter of George Kid and Isabel McDonald.

She was born on 16 March 1786 in Dirleton parish in the county of Midlothian in Scotland and baptised on the same day with witnesses, James Reid and Walter Grieve. ^[1]

She never married and had a single child, George Kid, with an unknown father. There does not seem to be any record of him in the Old Parish Register of Births & Bamptisms.

She died aged 85 on 19 January 1872 at 11 Manderston Street in south Leith parish in the port of Leith in the county of Midlothian in Scotland. The cause was Debility from age and there was no medical attendant. ^[2]
