I am a retired family historian who is now deeply immersed in DNA genealogy, thru 23andme and Ancestry atdna testing. I am looking for a site to post my lineal descent tree which will be disseminated widely to others with the same interest. I feel Wikitrees meets that need. I have added the y-dna from my maternal g-grandfathers line.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Curry or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Curry:

Hi Curry,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jen Hutton, on behalf of the Ireland Project

Thoughts on where our Stevenson's might intertwine? Or another connection we might share? I just did a one to one of us on GED.

Hi Curry! I'm reviewing the responses to the January 2021 checkin for the US Southern Colonies Project & I don't see that you responded. We conducted it via the Discussion Google Group, which it appears that you never joined (not sure how that happened... I was told that all project members were added to that group). It also seems that you have not joined a team either - one of the two participation requirements of the re-launched US Southern Colonies Project. The other is to respond to the 6-month checkins. If you reply to this comment, that will take care of that requirement. If you'll send me a private message with the Team(s) you'd like to join, that will take care of the other one. See Space: US Southern Colonies Teams for the list. Thanks!

Liz, thank you for you comment. However at this time, I am unable to take on any additional duties with Wikitree. I am a FTDNA surname administrator as well and find it very time consuming in addition to my own reasearch. Curry

Thanks for the reply. If ever you'd like to re-join the US Southern Colonies Project, just answer the G2G welcome post (see the link to it on the project page, as the posts are periodically updated).

Hi Curry,

As you may have seen, we have been doing some restructuring in the US Southern Colonies Project and are now organising ourselves into different teams. We have also changed the criteria for membership. Please have a look at the new project pages, and let me know whether you would like to remain in the project and, if so, which team(s) you would like to be in.

Please can you also send me your e-mail address. I can then make sure you are introduced to your Team Leaders and are in the Google Group.

Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the US Southern Colonies Project that you respond to these check-ins. We’re really excited for the future of the project and hope that you decide to be a part of it with us moving forwards.

Many thanks,

Susie, US Southern Colonies Project Co-Leader

Hi! I've connected the McWillies & the Nolands & I'm 7 degrees from Gov. McWillie:

William McWillie:

William McWillie? Catherine McWillie (his daughter)? Avery Noland (her husband)? Henry Noland (his brother)? Vaughan Noland (his son)? Henry Noland (his son) ? Peyton Noland (his son) ? me (his daughter).

I was curious to see if we were related, but I can't check (your privacy level doesn't allow it), but you can - go to Special:Relationship and plug in Noland-165 (that's me). Let me know! Let me know too if you want to be a manager of any of the profiles I just created to connect the two families - I try to keep my watchlist to just lineal ancestors when I can.

Cheers, Liz

Yes Curry, I began Med Tech work in Special Chemistry, later worked in Parasitology in Wilford Hall, Lackland AF Base. After a few years away for children's births. I worked 27 years in a Clinical Genetics Cytogenetics lab until I retired. There was the QA, of course. We cultured cells to diagnose Genetic abnormalities (if any) on chromosomes of patients. (Now most of it is done via DNA)

Thank you for the info on you. Amazing where life takes us!!

Hi Curry,

My question was about US Southern Colonies. You have a badge for it. We are polling if you have been active in the Southern Colonies.

And are you active still in Southern Pioneers subproject?

Hi Curry,

On behalf of the US Southern Colonies Project leaders, I am doing a six-month check-in with members to see what aspects of the project interest them most.

1) We would like the number of contributions you have made in the last two months (May and April) to Southern Colonies?

2) We would like to know if you have joined other Southern Colonies Subprojects, such as Southern Pioneers Project. Or other subprojects?

3) Your activity in Southern Pioneers Project.

I look forward to hearing from you.
