Biography
From Daltherda, or North Antrim, by W. Davies:[1]
- BENJAMIN KID lived at Knockraven, and Ravenhill. He had six sons, one of whom lived at old Tassagh called JOHN OF RAVENHILL, who departed this life A.D. 1730 aged 50 years.
- His son BENJAMIN OF RACARBERY died 24th Feb. 1758/60, aged 47 years. There is a stone erected in old Tassagh, by Benjamin Kyd of Armagh, 1822, to their memory with the Inscription “Long dead but not forgotten”. The stone is now laid flat.
(James Kid set as father rather than brother. James described as a Merchant [thus presumably an adult] in 1641, and Benjamin not directly stated in Beyers' notes to be be son of Walter - In fact, James' name is stylised by Beyers as though her direct ancestor)
