I really like the stickers. I hope I am not overdoing it.
Of course I would like to complete my ancestry as far as the sources indicate. Most of my ancestors are from Württemberg and I'm already very far with the evaluation of the church registers.

But there are a few immigrants from Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and neighboring countries to the east (Silesia, Bohemia) where I still have difficulties because I have not yet found any useful sources.

I am interested in everyone who goes by the name Kiedaisch. All lines that I have examined so far can be connected to my family tree and go back to the oldest known Kiedaisch in Weilheim / Teck. But there are many emigrants to the USA, and I probably don't know all of them yet. Since the name Kiedaisch seems to be difficult, some of them have been renamed to Keydash and the like.
I research ancestral communities with notable personalities. Naturally, these are mainly Germans and especially Swabian people, but there are a few exotic (from my European point of view), e.g. Barack Obama.
(Ah! Now there are new stickers for these relationships. But I don't want to rebuild the table:)

Genealogy isn't my only hobby. And I find it exciting when I can establish cross-references between different subject areas. Since I also play the organ, it is very interesting to me to see which organ builders and composers I am related to. Then I can play music composed by a relative on an instrument that was built by a relative. Some of them are only known locally and do not meet the "notable" criterion:
Related Notable | Famous for | Relationship | Degree | ||||
| Ernst Mühleisen | Organ builder | 1st cousin twice removed | 6 | trail | ||

I've done DNA tests at various companies and follow my matches on all major platforms. Unfortunately, this tool is not yet widely used in Germany, so I have only had a few closely related matches so far. I would be very interested to know if there are any male Kiedaisch who have taken a Y-DNA test.
Most of my ancestors were not very mobile and married locally or in the immediate vicinity. Relatives marriages regularly occurred. I am descended from some of my ancestors on 14 different trails. I am interested in the statistical and mathematical effects on inheritance that such multiple ancestors have. But also the practical question of how to present something like this clearly.

Projects
In line with the origin of my ancestors and my research interests, I am involved in the Germany project and the Notables project. I am also the coordinator of the Kiedaisch Name Study. I initiated free-space pages:
Challenges
I really enjoy taking part in challenges. The Sourcerer Challenge is still a bit difficult for me, but I love the Connect-a-thons. So far I have always been part of the Germany Genies.
Verein für Computergenealogie
Another version of my family tree can be found on GedBas. This is a Database hosted by Verein für Computergenealogie. Because people living are not displayed at all, not even as placeholders, you have to go to my grandparents:
Verein für Familienkunde in Baden-Württemberg
In Germany, as a country of associations, there is also a large number of genealogical societies. A (probably incomplete) overview is available at Portal Vereine. I am a member of the Verein für Familienkunde in Baden-Württemberg (Presentation on Wikitree), which covers the historical region where most of my ancestors come from.
Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

In case you want to communicate, discuss and receive help about WikiTree in German, you might want to check out the WikiTree category at Compgen’s Discourse as well as the German Discord server Ahnenforschung.
Of course there’s still the official WikiTree Discord server, where we usually talk English. Feel free to learn more about Discord and the server at Help:Discord.
Kind regards from Black Forest
Of course I want to remain a member of the Germany project. Regards Friedemann

It's Thon time again! The Source-a-Thon will be held from 1-4 Oct 2021 and the last day to register is 29 Sept. Do you want to participate with the Germany Genies again in this Thon? We could use your help sourcing German profiles (or any other profiles you'd like to source). Use this link to get to the G2G sign up post. Click the "answer" link at the bottom of the post and, when the answer box pops up, mention that you want to be on the Germany Genies team.
See our Team page for more info: Germany Genies.
Best regards, Traci
I am sorry, unfortunately I cannot take part this weekend. But I'm already collecting todo lists and hopefully I can support the Germany Genies again next time.
Regards Friedemann
Thanks for participating with the Germany Genies during this weekend's Connect-a-Thon. It was a lot of fun working together to expand our shared tree. Your hard work is appreciated and I hope you'll join our team again!
Warm regards, Traci
Thanks for joining the Germany Project! I've awarded you a project member badge. Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The Germany Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.
It is important to remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree. It generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through, either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches. Once that has been done, you should see [add] buttons for each of the remaining names.
The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
For those using Chrome, Opera, or Firefox browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles which have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment. Alternatively, click my name to visit my profile. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.
Have fun
