When I was a little girl my family made a trip to Iowa, this was the first time that I had met my g grandmother Maude (Killam) Goodrich. There was a big family reunion and during dinner the adults were talking about the past. Maude told a story about one of the male Killam's who was going to become a doctor , he did not want to be known as Dr. Killam ( for obvious reasons ) so he changed his last name . I may be wrong here but I believe that he changed his last name to Goodrich
