Leonard Killian was born May 15, 1723 in Rheinpalz, Bavaria, Palatinate, German to Andreas Killian and Magdalena Margartha (Fischer) Killian.

On 30 April 1724, Leonard, the son of Andreas Kilian, the younger, and Margaretha Fischer Kilian was baptized in Erzberg... He died June 6, 1795 in Lincoln County, North Carolina.[1] Leonard is buried at Old St Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina, USA..[1][2]

Leonard married Mary Margaret Killen in 1750..[1]
Children: Fannie Killian Cline (1761 - 1844)[2]

NC Crown Patent B 5:434-30 Sept. 1749-Leonard recieves 950 aacres on Killian Creek which he and wife Margaret sell 1 Jan. 1754. ANC, NC BD B:345-6.

LC,NC DB 1;750- 21 Mar. 1774-Leonard conveys 270 acres to his son J. Matthias Killian. See also Tryon Co., NC Ct. of Ps & Qs Apr. 1774.

LC, NC Wills; 12 Aug. 1790, Probated July 1795-Leonard wills to : Wife Mary Margaret; to children, but no names given

Leonard owned one slave in the year 1790, and is the only one of the Killian of this line who owned a slave. In 1790 his household consisted of himself, his wife, Margaret, a son, and the slave. Leonard seems to have been a man of considerable means, since he had a slave and has a stone erected at his grave in the cemetery at old St.Paul's Church.
