Biography

Goldman Kimbrough was born 1 June 1766 in Rowan, North Carolina. He was the son of Marmaduke Kimbrough and Mary (Turner) Kimbrough. Goldman was listed as an heir in his father Marmaduke Kimbrough's Last Will which was written in 1768 and probated in August 1769. [1] Most records show his surname as Kimbrough, but the 1820 Alabama State Census, shows his surname as "Kimbro". [2]

On 18 March 1792, in Wilkes County, North Carolina, he married Mary Allen. [3]

In 1800, Goldman Kimbrough was enumerated in Salisbury, Surry, North Carolina as head of an eleven person household. [4] In 1810, he and his family lived in Wilkesborough, Wilkes, North Carolina. [5] In 1820, he was enumerated as head of a nine person household in Franklin County, Alabama.[2]

Goldman died prior to the 1830 U.S. Census. His wife Mary was enumerated in the 1830 U.S. Census in Franklin County, Alabama, as head of household, which suggests that Goldman had passed prior to that event.
