Leo Bernard [John] born 1910 in the Cessnock NSW district the son of John KIME and Mary Elizabeth HOFFMAN. Leo died in 1997 at Pokolbin NSW. Married 1938 to Jean Mary BRUNNER at Singleton NSW.
At St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Singleton, on Thursday, 1st September, the marriage of Jean Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. A. Brunner, of Mitchell's Flat, and Leo Bernard, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Kime, of Mount Thorley, was solemnized with nuptial mass. The Rev. Father McCormack performed the ceremony. Through a guard of honour formed by the Children of Mary, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father to the strains of the "Wedding March," played by Miss Miner. The bride made a charming picture in her gown of ivory chinelle cloque, her oval train being bordered with trails of orange blossoms formerly worn by her mother. Her hand embroidered Brussels net veil fell from a coronet of tiny orange blossoms and she carried a beautiful sheaf of arum lilies. Misses Lorna, Eileen and Ella Brunner attended their sister as bridesmaids. They wore embossed taffeta frocks of pink, gold and blue respectively, with cut tulle shoulder veils held in place with halos of flowers, and carried horse shoes of sweet peas, stock, daffodil and Geraldton wax. Mr Vince Kime acted as best man and Messrs. William and Griff Brunner as groomsmen. During the ceremony, Mrs Flanagan sweetly rendered Ave Verum, Ave Maria, and O Salutaris. A reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, where the guests were received by Mrs W. A. Brunner and Mrs J. Kime. The bride's mother chose a frock of black with shoulder posie of white camelias, and the bridegroom's mother wore navy floral with white trimmings. The happy couple left by car for a tour to Brisbane, the bride travelling in navy with navy and white accessories. Prior to their marriage, this popular couple were tendered a gift evening and dance by their many friends at Mitchell's Flat at the home of the bride's parents. The large attendance and the numerous presents received showed the high esteem in which the young people were held.
