Biography

Sgt Dallas Kincaid served in the United States Army in World War II

Dallas was born in 1925. He was the son of Dallas Kincaid Onie Walker. He passed away on D-day : 6 Jun 1944.

Uncle Dal died during the invasion of Normandy returning to England in a B 24...

Dallas served in the 862nd Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sgt. and Tail Gunner. On D-Day after an aborted mission to France in support of Operation Overlord, due to heavy cloud cover, they were returning to base when they collided with another plane in their group, and both crashed into the western English Channel. All men on both crews were declared "Missing in Action". Dallas received the following medals: Air Medal, Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign.
