Biography

Anna Kincaid was born in or before 1665.

If available reference dates are to be believed, she already had an illegitimate son William Carmichael and was either heavily pregnant or had just given birth to her second son James Carmichael, at the time of her wedding to John Carmichael on 31 Jul 1679 in Glasgow.[1]

Kinkaide-3 and Kincaid-562 appear to represent the same person because: Same place and date of birth; same name of husband - although both cited marriage dates in the different records could be innacurate; the marriage may have occured on another date. There seems no doubt that these are the same person - the name is phonetically the same, and different spellings were common in different references and sources, in those less literate times.

The records should be merged - but some addditional resaerch is necessary to decide on correct speelling of name at birth; or majority record spelling of family name among close relations.
