Biography

Sarah Jane King Gober Sarah was the daughter of James & Elizabeth King, born in 1817 and raised in Franklin County, Georgia.

Sarah married William Jackson M. Gober Gober-101[1]November 19, 1837 in Franklin County.

Their children were: William Gober-169, Emily Gober-5, James Gober-100, Julia Gober-170, & John Gober-4.

  • Sarah Jane King, wife of William Jackson Gober. For years researchers thought she had died shortly after William and was buried here at Bethlehem.

1880 census for Chase County, Kansas shows she moved with oldest daughter Emily, after the death of William. She may have moved on to Oklahoma as Emily is there in 1900.

  • Sarah and her sister Elizabeth married brothers; William & John Gober.
  • May 2016: DNA and court records have matched three King children to James & Elizabeth J. King. Sarah was one of five children born to the family.
