Rachael King was born in Kentucky to Peter King an Mary Jane Edwards.[1][2] She had a twin sister, Martha.[3]
Her husband, Zadok Casey, who would rise to lofty political positions, was virtually illiterate when they married. She taught him to read and write.[4]
