Union Pensions :—Councillor Bartley proposed, Councillor O’Toole seconded "That Mr. Festus King’s pension allowance as Clerk of the late Clifden Union, £214/10/5, which was calculated on the average of three years’ salary and emoluments at the time of the abolition of office, 31st Dec., 1921 (£321/14/8) be calculated on the actual salary and emoluments for the year in question, viz., £359/18/10, and be increased by £25/8/7, the difference in pension between the three years’ calculation and the actual salary and emoluments for the year 1921 (this being the basis upon which other clerks with lesser service was arrived at and sanctioned. 1 he pension unanimously allowed by the Guardians was £239/19/0, being calculated on the actual salary and emoluments for the year terminating his employment, 31st Dec., 1921. Mr. King being the third oldest clerk in the service."
