Elizabeth Jane King was born in 1845 in Cambridgeshire, England.[1]. She was baptised on the 15th of March, 1846 at Kingston, Cambridgeshire. She was the daughter of James King and Elizabeth Pitt, and the adopted daughter of Elizabeth Rutter.
Her mother Elizabeth Pitt died in 1849 in Cambridgeshire, England. Her father James then married Elizabeth " Betsy " Rutter in 1850 at Bourne, Cambridgeshire. " Jane " emigrated to Australia in 1951 on board the Emperor, with her father James King and Elizabeth ( Betsy ) King, nee Rutter. She was recorded as Jane King on the Shipping Records.
Elizabeth Jane King married David Whitby Rutter in 1866 in New South Wales.[2]
Elizabeth Jane Rutter passed away on the 10th of October, 1919. She was buried at Saint Matthew's Anglican Church Cemetery, Windsor, Hawkesbury City, New South Wales, Australia, with her husband David and their son, James King Rutter [1]
