Robert King was born in 1806 @ Belchertown, Massachusetts, son of Robert & Sarah (Conkey) King.
He married Theda King; they had 8 children:

- Serepta Fidelia King, b. 7 Aug 1831; married twice
- Rufus Powers King, b. 1833; married twice; died @ Marshall, Michigan
- James Chandler King; died at Chatham, Ontario, age 28
