Hello,

Will a PM or another researcher please fix the discrepency with attached son John Collins-1484. Sons birth year is 1641 and this profile for his supposed mother, has the birth year 1651. It is causing problems - - - a Data Doctor error. Thank you.

There is ongoing research to clear up these discrepancies. The different profiles are a work in-progress. Once all the research is done, dates, places, connections will be corrected. If you look at the various notes above, you will see that Ann's birth date is in dispute; however, no documentation has verified any date. It has been suggested anywhere between 1617 to 1620 versus 1651/1652. Also, there is discussion that some of the children listed as William's are probably not Ann's.

This is pretty much why the disputed dates are still showing. As sources are verified, corrections are made.

Thank you very much for your reply, Margaret; as well as thanks for the work you're doing on this profile.
I agree. I adopted King-2218, so I'm not sure who initially entered the profile, but from what information I've found on John Collins, her son, the individual who set up King-2218 input incorrect dates for Ann. A Collins researcher has her birth about 1615 in Isle of Wight VA. This same researcher also shows her being married to William Collins in 1640 in London. Don't know if this Collins really looked at his information. But, whatever you think should be done, please do so. Because I'm at a loss on this one.

King-2218 and King-23390 are not ready to be merged because: they do seem to have been married to the same William Collins of Kent, England but the differences in their birth years and the births of their children will require significant work to untangle with few primary sources to rely on as often in Colonial Virginia. Research is definitely needed or an Arborist. Should not be merged without care.

Now thinking that William Collins may have been married to an Ann as a first wife but not the Ann King that he married ca 1675. Early researchers found where he married Ann King widow of Thomas Wilds and I believe the records got messed up then. He clearly had an earlier wife or two and likely more children

ran out of space on the will of Ann

Wills and Administrations of Isle of Wight Co VA Murray, Ann age 49 Nuncupative, proven by Francis Parker and Robert King. Leg son John Collins, daughter Ann collins, Daughter Martha Murray, daughter Mary Murray; last two named daughters to live with their uncle Robert King

Ann King was 49 when she died as the will pages says so born about 1652 If she were born in 1620 she would have been near 80 when she died and not the mother of the minor girls who lived with their Uncle Robert King

I don't think this William was the William born 1712 and the father of these 5 children. Their father William Collins b 1612 d abt 1705

King-27503 and King-27504 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, spouse, years of birth and death.
