[11][12]
On 16 July 1913 he took a furlough from the battleship Florida to come visit his parents, who were living on Fourth Street.
[13]
He returned back to Newport to end his furlough a week later. By then his parents had moved to Fifth Street. [This is an obvious error.]
[14]
On 25 October 1914 he married Geneva Wilson (23) in Boston. Both were living at 20 Leverett Street[15] at the time. She was a laundress and he was a painter.

[18] On 8 August 1917, an Ernest L. King was one of fifteen men who failed to answer the call to examination by the draft board.[19]
On 19 June 1918, on furlough, Ernest visited his parents in Highlands.

Grim.[23] He was interred in Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo, New Jersey, with military honors. Soldiers from the Sandy Hook, New Jersey, base formed the honor guard.
[24][25] On the following Memorial Day, trees were planted in front of the Highlands school house in memory of Ernest and of William Mathews, two Highlands boys who died during the war.[26]
On 14 November 1923, a memorial service in Highlands was held to honor Ernest and fellow military member William Matthews.

Research Notes
There is no application for a military widow's pension so that leads me to believe that he and jennie were divorced before he entered the service in '17. Also listed as single on the draft registration.
