Note: 1930: Mltchel King, 71, a resident of Flat Rock for the past 42 years, died at his home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock following an illness of two months, due to heart trouble. Mr. King was bom November 6, 1859, In Armagh, Quebec. He bought a tract of land in Flat Rock and had been engaged in farming practically all the years which he lived in this section of the peninsula. Besides his widow he is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Leo Bush, Mrs. William Moran, Detroit; Mrs. Ed. Poquette, Escanaba;. Joseph King, Iron Mountain, George, Dona, Ernest, Mrs. Eugene Plouf, Leo and Evelyn King, all of Flat Rock. Funeral services will be held at the Holy Family church at Flat Rock Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock with Rev. Fr. George LaForest as the celebrant at the requiem high. mass. Interment will be in the family lot in the Flat Rock cemetery. Mr. King was a member of the Holy Name society. Members of this organization will go to the home to recite the rosary.[8]
