Hannah (known as Frances) was born about 1835 in England
Hannah, daughter of John King & Martha Wykes, was baptised on 25 January 1835 in Brington, Northamptonshire, England.[1]
Frances arrived into New Zealand from England aboard the "Cressy", one of the first four ships carrying emigrants from England to Canterbury, New Zealand. The "Cressy" departed Gravesend, England on 4 September 1850 and arrived into Lyttelton on 27 December 1850. She accompanied her widowed mother, Martha, sisters Jane and Sarah Anne, as well as brother Charles. Frances's mother ran a boarding house in Lyttelton.
In 1855, Frances married John Scott Caverhill in Lyttelton and the couple spent their married lives living in North Canterbury and then on to the North Island - in Hawera and Cambridge - before ultimately returning to Christchurch.
Frances passed away about 1897, aged 62 and is buried at the Linwood Cemetery, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Hannah was born about 1840. She passed away about 1910.
