Biography

Edward Thomas King was born on 21 October 1878 in Franklin, Williamson, Tennessee. His parents were Charles Thomas King and Mary (_____) King.^[1] Edward Thomas was their firstborn child.

In the 1880 census, Edward [recorded by his middle name, Thomas] (age 1), was enumerated as the son of Charles T. and Mary S. King in District 5, Williamson, Tennessee, United States.^[2]

Edward married Julia Irene Cooper on 17 Jul 1898 in Davidson County, Tennessee. They had at least three children (all three known children are daughters).

In the 1900 census, Edward (age 21), Laborer (Dairy), was the married head of household in Civil District 12, Davidson, Tennessee.^[3]

In the 1910 census, Edward (age 31), Salesman, was the married head of household in Civil District 13, Davidson, Tennessee, United States.^[4]

Julia died in 1941. According to the inscription on his gravestone, Edward died on 17 March 1967. He was laid to rest next to his wife, Julia, in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. His Find-a-Grave memorial has a photo of their shared gravestone.^[5]
