William Samuel King migrated from England to New Zealand.
William Samuel was born about 1867. He passed away in 1954 age 86.
In 1899 he married Catherine Winifred Cantrell. [1]
Life member of Canterbury Chess Club; father of Miss A. Wellard-King. A journalist and critic, he was also national rifle champion twice, and competed internationally for New Zealand in shooting.
He is buried at Bromley. [2]
