Biography

John was the son of William Colsell King and Sophia Harriot (DeWolf) King .

John Otis King was born on March 21, 1806, probably in Nova Scotia.

He was first married on 21 Oct 1828 in St George Church, Falmouth Nova Scotia to Eleanor Campbell (c1811-1839)

He was a Justice of Peace Hants Co, Nova Scotia

In 1826 he was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in the Hants Co militia. By 1833 he was a 1st Lt, by 1841, a Captain in the 1st Hants Co Militia Regt.

His obituary claims he was made a major during Lt Gov. Doyle's administration.

He was married a second time to Martha on 5 Mar 1840. Together, they had four children.
