Libbeus Kingman was born in 1778. He is the son of Malboro Kingman and Sibyl Haskell.[1]
Libbeus married Sarah Moore, daughter of Joshua Moore of Ellsworth, Me., August 30, 1809. She died at Ellsworth, April 24, 1870. They had the following children, all born in Waltham, Maine:[1]
"Mr. Kingman removed from Waterford to Mariaville, Me., about 1802 or 1803, crossing over the country near Augusta to Bangor, Me., thence across Union River to what was then known as Timber Brook Ridge, which was composed of four townships, Nos. 14, 20, 26 and 27. He took up land on the south line of No. 20, at the highest point of the ridge, and felled the trees preparatory to a settlement, he being the first settler."[1]
Libbeus passed away in 1856.[1]
