Abner married Lydia, born in 1770, the daughter of Thomas Paddock of Middleboro', November 5, 1793.[3] They had the following children:[2]
Celia, b. Nov. 19, 1795; m. Ebenezer Parker of Boston, Mass., Sept. 3, 1822. She d. Jan. 5, 1845.
Eliab, b. May 24, 1797; m. Cordelia Ball Elwell of Washington, D. C, Dec. 9, 1828. He d. at Washington, Feb. 1, 1883.
Keziah Paddock, b. Dec. 3, 1800 ; d. in Boston, Sept. 18, 1882.
Lydia, b. July 16, 1803; m. Rev. Handel G. Nott of Saybrook, Conn., July 11, 1827.
Lucia, b. Sept. 1, 1805; m. Nathaniel Wilgus of Buffalo, N. Y., April 22, 1839. She d. Nov. 10, 1849.
Abner, b. Feb. 5, 1814; m. (1) Sarah Jane Anderson of Boston, June 29, 1854 ; (2) Caro Allen Graves, Nov. 4, 1868.
Infant, b. Feb. 5, 1814; d. April 2, 1814.
"This family resided at Warren, R. I., for a short time, and removed to Providence, R. I., in August, 1805, where he engaged in the shoe trade. Previous to this date, he had been a school teacher. He remained in Providence until the latter part of 1827, when he closed his business, and removed to Boston, Mass., in March, 1828, where he remained in broken health until the death of his wife, November 28, 1832. About a year later, while on a visit to his daughters in New Haven, Conn., he died, August 14, 1833, and then ended the earthly life of an exemplary Christian, an influential man, highly cultivated in mind and manners."[2]
Abner passed away in 1833 in New Haven, New Haven Co, Connecticut.[4]
