Joane Kingman was born about 1622 in England, the daughter of Henry Kingman and his wife Joanne. Her father, mother and siblings came to Dorchester, Massachusetts with Reverend Hull's company, arriving 7 June, 1635.[1]
Joane's siblings, all born in England:
Alice, b. near 1615, m. Unknown Bernard, possably Richard, d. before 24 May, 1667.
Edward, b. near 1618.
Anne, b. near 1625.
Thomas, b. near 1627.
John, b. near1632.
Bridget, m. 13 May, 1649, Tobias Davis of Roxburry.
Henry, d. May, 1660.
Joane married Thomas Holbrook Jr. of Braintree.[2]
In February, 2016 it seems that Thomas Holbrook-84 has three wives, two of which are named "Jane Kingman" His marriage to the third, Jane Powyes-5 is well documented. The two "Kingman" wives seem to have become attached when a "Jane Kingman" is mentioned as his wife in a statement attributed to Thomas.
There was a statement made by Thomas Holbrook that Jane Kingman was his wife. This statement has not been located or proven to be fact. It is likely this Jane Kingman is really Joanna Kingman, Thomas-84's son, Thomas-85's wife. [3] It is my opinion that the "Jane Kingman" named in the statement is actually Joanna Kingman-6, the wife of Thomas Holbrook-85, Thomas Holbrook-84's son, and should removed from Holbrook-84, be merged, and merged into Kingman-6.
