Biography

This profile is part of the Kingman Name Study.

Sarah Kingman was born about 1675 in Weymouth, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Her parents were Thomas Kingman and Rebecca ________.[1] She married John Vinson by 1696.[1] Together they had ten known children:

  1. John Vinson
  2. Thomas Vinson
  3. Sarah Vinson
  4. Joshua Vinson
  5. Mary Vinson
  6. Sarah (twin)????
  7. Mary Vinson twin
  8. Samuel Vinson
  9. Ruth
  10. Lydia Vinson

Sarah is assumed to have died in Weymouth where she resided sometime before July 23, 1756 when her husband wrote his will and did not mention her.

Research notes

Estimated birth date is based on an assumed age of 21 around the time of her marriage. Marriage is estimated based on birth of first child John in 1697.

Removed death information for 1729. Death date was for Sarah, widow of John Sr. Since this Sarah's husband was still alive, this probably applied to Sarah's mother-in-law

It appears to me that two separate sets of people are being confounded here. Information presented on the webpage http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/c/o/l/Phillip-D-Colson/GENE4-0040.html indicates that John Vinson (~1650 to 1718) married Sarah Richards before 1675. One of their children was also named John Vinson (~1675 to ~1756) and he married Sarah Kingman before 1696.
