Biography

Elizabeth was born in Mansfield, Connecticut.

She married Henry in Coventry, Connecticut, on September 24, 1851. I have a photocopy of the original marriage record and it says 1851.

She is buried in the Center Cemetary in Coventry.

A biography of Elizabeth's father Harvey (see his page for more) says "Two daughters were born to them, Elizabeth Wright and Mary Jeffers, both of whom married the late Hon. Henry E. H. Gilbert."

Elizabeth's name has been carried down for several generations: Mary Elizabeth Gilbert b. 1853 d. 1861 Hattie Elizabeth Gilbert b. 1860 d. 1906 Rebecca Elizabeth b. 1917 d. 2011 Rebecca Elizabeth b. 1943 Hannah Elizabeth b. 1977 Anna Elizabeth b. 2008

Perhaps she was named for her mother's twin sister, Besty Wright.
