Died. Kingsbury. In Richville, N.Y., January 3, 1878, after a brief illness, Mr. Liba W. Kingsburg, aged eighty-five years, two months and twenty-two days. Deceased was born in Boonville, Oneida county, N.Y. At the age of forty he experienced religion, and with his wife was united with the Baptist Church. In subsequent years he removed to Gouverneur, N.Y., and there identified himself with the same religious faith. The last nine years of his life were spent with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Austin, and his last spirtual home was in the Richville Baptist Church. He was a quiet, unassuming man, but one who will be greatly missed for his sterling worth as a good citizen and an earnest Christian. He illustrated his faith by his works. He lived long and died (illegible). - transcribers note: the original obituary has 'Kingsburg' and 'Kingsbury' as this person's last name. - also note, a third copy of his obituary refers to him as Ziba W. Kingsbury - this copy of his obituary has a legible ending: 'He lived long and died happy and has entered into rest. His funeral sermon was preached from Heb. 4-9, 'There remainith therefore a rest to the people of God.' RWS 11/6/1994.[11][12]
